Developed and enhanced a bioinformatic tools to integrate and understand aberrant epigenomic and genomic changes associated with cancer associated with cancer.

Key achievements:

• Improved the performance of the tool by more than 50% compared to previous version.
• Improved data mining efficiency by creating an easy HTML report summarizing all results that would be easily understandable by any user (Example available at https://tiagochst.github.io/ELMER_supplemental/).
• Publication of the work in a peer reviewed article (https://doi.org/10.1093/bioinformatics/bty902)
• Oral presentation of the project and its results at Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles and at Marie Pierre Curie University in Paris.
  

Created a bioinformatic tool to integrate and understand aberrant epigenomic and genomic changes associated with cancer. Along with the Implementation of algorithms to search, download, and analyze the data, I also created a graphical user interface.
